When our younger daughter, Laura, announced her engagement, we went into immediate wedding planning mode. As a wedding planner of many years, I felt comfortably in my element.
When Laura and her husband-to-be, Chase, announced they wanted to get married in a barn, it left me slightly speechless. I knew barn weddings were becoming popular, but it was never what I envisioned when planning my daughter’s wedding.
However, if there was one thing I learned in my years of wedding coordinating, it was that no one likes a pushy Mother of the Bride. I was determined to let Laura have whatever her heart desired for her wedding, even if wasn’t exactly what I would have chosen.
As we started researching ideas, scouring Pinterest and other resources, Laura’s vision started to come to life. We found a beautiful old barn an hour north of us. It was red and round and would provide a wonderful backdrop for the day.
Once the location was decided, the other details fell into place. Laura chose a pretty mint color, paired with lavender, creams and ivories.
I am excited to share our beautiful day with all of you.

Hi Karen – It is the Kelley Agricultural Museum near Kokomo, Indiana. It was the perfect place for an outdoor, vintage wedding!
